Resort Feature

Dynamic views of the city and the sea from steep slopes with deep snow

It can’t get better than this

The summit of Mt. Teine (1,023m/ 3,356ft) looks down on the city of Sapporo and Ishikari bay- a magnificent view indeed. If you’re looking for a challenging but rewarding ride, have a go at the “Kitakabe Course,” which literally translates into “north wall.” It’s one of Japan’s most iconic steep surfaces, with a maximum incline of 36 degrees- take a dive into the steep and deep. Going on a tree run in the sparsely wooded Nature Zone or taking a shot at the tough courses that were used for the slalom and giant slalom events in the Sapporo Olympics are also tempting options. So close to the city, but with enormous scale that won’t bore you- this is what makes TEINE so special.

What keeps inbound experts coming

Seasoned riders, more than anything else, are drawn to the broad backcountry outside the gates at the summit. The snow quality and diverse landforms are top-notch. You can go off-piste into backcountry with an amazing amount of powder, and ride down to the resort’s parking area. TEINE is home to Teine gate, a gate into the backcountry located near the summit, and keeps to a stance of allowing riders to ride in the out-of-resort-jurisdiction backcountry at their own risk.

An awesome spot for tourists visiting from Asia

TEINE doesn’t cater only to the experts- the resort is also a great spot for families and beginners to relax and enjoy their time in the mountains. Want to enjoy the snow, or try skiing AND the food and sightseeing? Then TEINE is the spot for you. The resort offers full gear rental options, so you only have to bring yourself. They even have English lessons. Come to TEINE for fine snow, stunning views, and great experiences you’ll never forget!
